Reading 1 SIR 6:5-17
A kind mouth multiplies friends and appeases enemies,
and gracious lips prompt friendly greetings.
Let your acquaintances be many,
but one in a thousand your confidant.
When you gain a friend, first test him,
and be not too ready to trust him.
For one sort is a friend when it suits him,
but he will not be with you in time of distress.
Another is a friend who becomes an enemy,
and tells of the quarrel to your shame.
Another is a friend, a boon companion,
who will not be with you when sorrow comes.
When things go well, he is your other self,
and lords it over your servants;
But if you are brought low, he turns against you
and avoids meeting you.
Keep away from your enemies;
be on your guard with your friends.
A faithful friend is a sturdy shelter;
he who finds one finds a treasure.
A faithful friend is beyond price,
no sum can balance his worth.
A faithful friend is a life-saving remedy,
such as he who fears God finds;
For he who fears God behaves accordingly,
and his friend will be like himself.

Gospel MK 10:1-12
Jesus came into the district of Judea and across the Jordan.
Again crowds gathered around him and, as was his custom,
he again taught them.
The Pharisees approached him and asked,
"Is it lawful for a husband to divorce his wife?"
They were testing him.
He said to them in reply, "What did Moses command you?"
They replied,
"Moses permitted a husband to write a bill of divorce
and dismiss her."
But Jesus told them,
"Because of the hardness of your hearts
he wrote you this commandment.
But from the beginning of creation, God made them male and female.
For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother
and be joined to his wife,
and the two shall become one flesh.
So they are no longer two but one flesh.
Therefore what God has joined together,
no human being must separate."
In the house the disciples again questioned Jesus about this.
He said to them,
"Whoever divorces his wife and marries another
commits adultery against her;
and if she divorces her husband and marries another,
she commits adultery."

Primera lectura
Sir 6, 5-17
Las palabras amistosas multiplican el número de amigos,
los labios amables aumentan los saludos.
Es bueno que te saluden muchos;
pero que uno solo entre mil sea tu amigo íntimo.
Cuando hagas una nueva amistad, vete con tiento;
no te le confíes tan fácilmente,
pues hay amigos que lo son por conveniencia
y no son fieles en el día de la desgracia.
Hay amigos que se vuelven enemigos
y descubren con afrenta los motivos del pleito.
Hay amigos que te acompañan a comer,
pero nunca se aparecen en la hora de las penas:
cuando te va bien, están contigo,
cuando te va mal, huyen de ti;
si te ocurre una desgracia, cambian de actitud
y se esconden de tu vista.
Aléjate de tus enemigos
y sé precavido con tus amigos.
El amigo fiel es un refugio que da seguridad;
el que lo encuentra, ha encontrado un tesoro.
El amigo fiel no tiene precio:
ningún dinero ajusta para comprarlo.
El amigo fiel es un tónico de vida.
Los que aman al Señor lo encontrarán;
el que teme al Señor sabe ser fiel amigo
y hace a sus amigos como él.

Mc 10, 1-12
En aquel tiempo, se fue Jesús al territorio de Judea y Transjordania, y de nuevo se le fue acercando la gente; él los estuvo enseñando, como era su costumbre. Se acercaron también unos fariseos y le preguntaron, para ponerlo a prueba: "¿Le es lícito a un hombre divorciarse de su esposa?"
Él les respondió: "¿Qué les prescribió Moisés?" Ellos contestaron: "Moisés nos permitió el divorcio mediante la entrega de un acta de divorcio a la esposa". Jesús les dijo: "Moisés prescribió esto, debido a la dureza del corazón de ustedes. Pero desde el principio, al crearlos, Dios los hizo hombre y mujer. Por eso dejará el hombre a su padre y a su madre y se unirá a su esposa y serán los dos una sola cosa. De modo que ya no son dos, sino una sola cosa. Por eso, lo que Dios unió, que no lo separe el hombre".
Ya en casa, los discípulos le volvieron a preguntar sobre el asunto. Jesús les dijo: "Si uno se divorcia de su esposa y se casa con otra, comete adulterio contra la primera. Y si ella se divorcia de su marido y se casa con otro, comete adulterio".
