Liturgy for the anniversary of the death of
Concepción Cabrera de Armida

Introduction (Opening Monition)

Today, we celebrate the anniversary of Concepción Cabrera de Armida's return to the House of the Father, and we wish to thank God for the goodness and mercy He bestowed upon her.

Let us ask our merciful Father to grant, us by the intercession of Conchita, to live the charism that she lived. That her availability be ours, and that we may drink of her desire to save souls with and in Jesus. May we learn, as she did, to live our baptismal priesthood with and in Christ. As He was for her, may Jesus be for us, "the way and the truth and the life." Jn 14:6

Opening Prayer

Holy Father, source of all goodness, we thank you for the labor of love that you realized in your servant, the venerable Concepción Cabrera de Armida and we ask that by her example we may learn to serve You, our brothers and our sisters with joy and generosity. Through Christ Our Lord.

First Reading

Abraham's vocation of fatherhood to the people of God.

A Reading from the Book of Genesis (12:1-4)

The Lord said to Abram: "Go forth from your land, your relatives, and from your father's house to a land that I will show you.

I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, so that you will be a blessing.

I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you. All the families of earth will find blessing in you."

Abram went as the Lord directed him.

Responsorial Psalm (Psalm 103 & 104)

R. Lord, send out your Spirit, and renew the face of the Earth.

Bless the Lord, O my soul!

O Lord, my God, you are great indeed! R.

How manifold are your Works, O Lord!

The Earth is full of your creatures; R.

All of these look to You

To give them food in due time.

When You give it to them, they gather;

When You open your hand, they are well filled. R.

Send forth your Spirit, they are created

And You renew the face of the Earth.

May the glory of the Lord endure forever

May the Lord be glad in his works! R.

I will sing to the Lord all my life;

I will sing praise to my God while I live

May my meditation be pleasing to Him;

I will rejoice in the Lord. R.

Second Reading

We may call God Father having received a spirit of adoption.

A Reading from the Letter of Saint Paul to the Romans (8:14-17)

For those who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you received a spirit of adoption, through which we cry, "Abba, Father!" The Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if only we suffer with him so that we may also be glorified with him.

Alleluia

R. Alleluia, Alleluia

For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life. (Jn 3:16) R. Alleluia.

Gospel

He who is not born from above cannot see the Kingdom of God.

A Reading from the holy Gospel according to John (3:1-6)

How there was a Pharisee named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. He came to Jesus at night and said to him, "Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God, for no one can do these signs that you are doing unless God is with him." Jesus answered and said to him, "Amen, amen, I say to you, no one can see the kingdom of God without being born from above." Nicodemus said to him, "How can a person once grown old be born again? Surely he cannot reenter his mother's womb and be born again, can he?" Jesus answered, "Amen, amen, I say to you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit. What is born of flesh is flesh and what is born of spirit is spirit."

Prayer after Communion

Lord, you who have changed the Body and Blood of Christ, that we have offered in thanksgiving, into spiritual food for us; fill us, as you did your servant Concepción Cabrera de Armida, with joy and strength so we can serve with renewed enthusiasm and enjoy your assistance continuously.

Through Christ Our Lord.

Closing Monition

May we be docile to the Holy Spirit that moved Conchita to live united to Jesus Christ and surrender her soul for others, especially for priests and the Church. As Conchita her daily life inspired by Jesus, may we also be moved by Jesus, the Way the Truth and the Life, to continue her work in the world of being priests with Him and in Him.
