Una sola Vida
Nació en un remoto pueblecito, trabajó en carpintería hasta sus treinta años cuando se hizo predicador itinerante. Nunca tuvo un cargo público ni casa propia. No fue a la escuela ni tenía otro credencial mas que su propia persona. Cuando tenía treinta y tres años el público lo repudió, sus amigos huyeron y fue entregado a sus enemigos. Fue víctima de un falso juicio y, condenado a muerte, fue crucificado entre dos ladrones. Mientras moría, los verdugos sortearon sus ropas, la única propiedad que tenía en la tierra. Su cadáver fue depositado en una tumba prestada.
Veinte siglos mas tarde El continúa siendo la figura central de la historia universal. Todos los ejercito que han marchado, todas las flotas que han navegado, todos los parlamentos que se han convenido y todos los reyes que han reinado, puestos juntos, no han impactado la vida del hombre en la tierra como esta sola persona: Jesucristo.
One Solitary Life
HE was born in an obscure village and worked in a carpenter shop until He was thirty. He then became an itinerant preacher. He never held an office or owned a house. He didn't go to college, had no credentials but Himself. He was only thirty-three when the public turned against Him. His friends ran away. He was turned over to His enemies, went through the mockery of a trial and was nailed to a cross between two thieves. While He was dying, His executioners gambled for His clothing, the only property He had on earth. He was laid in a borrowed grave.
Twenty centuries have come and gone, and today He remains the central figure of the human race. All the armies that have marched, all the navies that ever sailed, all the parliaments that ever sat, and all the kings that ever reigned have not affected the life of man on this earth as much as that one single person: Jesus.
