Saints and exemplars

"Holiness is to imprint Christ in oneself, this is the objective of the life of the Christian" -Benedict XVI 1-XI-2010

We, members of the militant Church on earth, are one with the triumphant Church in heaven. This unity is vital. The Saints witness the impassioned love of Christ Crucified and help us to participate in it. With their help we want with all our hearts to become saints.

"The only real sadness in life is this and only this: not being a saint" -Leon Bloy.

In the Love Crucified Community we have many patron saints and indeed encourage the veneration of all the saints. The saints teach us the vision and way of life we seek in the Love Crucified community. As you read, pray to the Holy Spirit to sanctify you!  "Do not be afraid! I know that you are seeking Jesus the crucified" -Mt 28:5

    .
I am God’s grain, and I am being ground by the teeth of wild beasts in order that I may found to be pure bread for Christ. My love has been crucified and there is in me no fire of material love, but rather a living water, speaking in me and saying within me, ‘Come to the Father.’ I take no pleasure in corruptible food or in the delights of this life. I want the bread of God, which is the flesh of Jesus Christ, who is the seed of David; and for drink I want his Blood which is incorruptible love.
  • St John of the Cross
